Kids’ Chance Community to Build on 2022 Successes in 2023

While the Kids’ Chance community works tirelessly year round to further our mission of giving the kids of workers who have been injured on the job a chance at a better future, those efforts are heightened during one week each year — Kids’ Chance Awareness Week.

Each year in November, Kids’ Chance of America (KCOA) puts together resources and materials to help our community across the country raise awareness for our mission. And our volunteers in all 50 states continue to bring Awareness Week to new heights each year.

In 2022, ten state organizations received Governor’s Proclamations, which helped lead to four new submissions to our Planning for the Future initiative — helping us make sure kids who need our support don’t fall through the cracks.

State organizations held popcorn sales, Top Golf tournaments, auctions, happy hours, and other events to bring our community together to raise awareness and money for what matters most — our kids. Several states pulled together their volunteers to send care packages to their students away at college, who at the time were busy studying for final exams.

While each state organization that got involved in Awareness Week in some way increased their visibility in their communities, there are two state event successes worth highlighting. Our Kids’ Chance affiliate in New Mexico, the Toby Wright Scholarship, raised more than $100,000 at their Awareness Week golf tournament and Kids’ Chance of Oregon (KCOR) hosted their first event in several years, raising over $30,000.

This year’s Kids’ Chance Awareness Week will take place November 13-17, 2023. We have resources available for our states, partners, and volunteers to take advantage of — and we’re excited to see what new heights our community takes it to this fall.

Every member of the Kids’ Chance community can support our mission during Kids’ Chance Awareness Week. By coming together one week each year, we concentrate our efforts, which boosts our volume.

Join our national movement for one day or for the whole week. Every action makes a difference.
