Hosts of the Kids’ Chance National Conference Excited to Show Off Charlotte in the Spring

The Kids’ Chance of North Carolina (KCNC) board members are thrilled to welcome their colleagues to Charlotte for the first in-person Kids’ Chance National Conference since 2019.

“We’re so excited to have everyone join us in the ‘Queen City,’” said Jennifer Condo, President of KCNC. “It’s such a great opportunity to bring our Kids’ Chance community together to learn from each other, get inspired, build our networks, and support our kids.”

Founded in 2004, KCNC is an active organization with an eager and engaged board of directors. Their 14-member board is drawn from the workers’ comp sector including claims managers, attorneys, and medical personnel. KCNC supports 8 to 10 scholarship students annually, and a few of those students and their families will be in attendance to share their stories and inspire our community.

Dana Genheimer, former President of KCNC, will become President of Kids’ Chance of America during the annual meeting in Charlotte. Dana is looking forward to seeing everyone in North Carolina and notes how important the conference experience has been to her personally. “The National Conference is instrumental in connecting the Kids’ Chance community of supporters and building awareness for #MoreMoneyforMoreKids,” she says.  ”As a state representative, the conference provides a tremendous opportunity to gain knowledge and share expertise across the country. I encourage everyone to attend!”

The KCNC planning committee has left plenty of time for attendees to explore the charming city of Charlotte in its springtime glory. Charlotte’s downtown (referred to as “uptown,” according to Jennifer), is brimming with restaurants and pop-ups reflecting the city’s growing prominence in the south’s culinary scene. Nearby are the NASCAR Hall of Fame and Discovery Place Science Museum. Closer to the airport you’ll find the U.S. National Whitewater Center, a world-class facility offering climbing, ropes courses, rafting and kayaking, mountain biking, and more. And of course, if you’re a Parrot Head, Jimmy Buffet will be performing on April 30, 2022, at Charlotte’s PNC Music Pavilion — a great way to end your conference experience.

The National Conference kicks off on Thursday evening, April 28, 2022, with a welcome reception hosted by KCNC. “A Taste of the Carolinas” will feature local food specialties including, of course, barbeque.
