Kids’ Chance of America Announces New Officers

National Organization Fortunate to Have Top-Notch Leaders

Kids’ Chance of America held its Annual Meeting on April 24, 2020. While usually conducted in person at the National Conference, this year the meeting was held virtually.

The organization holds this meeting every year so that the national leadership as well as representatives from each of the 47 member states can connect around their shared mission. It provides a forum to share updates from across the country, as well as critical governance updates from the national organization.

This includes announcing and approving the slate of officers for Kids’ Chance of America.

We are fortunate to have many capable leaders continuing as members of the board of directors. Our officers for the next year will be as follows:

  • President: Ken Martino, President of MedRisk
  • Immediate Past President: Kevin Turner, CEO of Paradigm Catastrophic Care Management
  • Secretary: Kevin Confetti, Deputy Chief Risk Officer at the University of California
  • Treasurer: Suzanne Emmet, Senior Vice President of Claims at Eastern Alliance Insurance Group
  • Advisory Board Chair: John Goldwater, Executive Vice President of W.R. Berkley Corporation
  • Council of States Chair: Bob Wilson, President & CEO of WorkersCompensation.com (Council Elected)

We also have two new people joining the board: Jim Ryan President, Casualty at Sedgwick, and Jim Gilbert, Executive Vice President of W.R. Berkley Corporation.

Both people bring with them skills, connections, and above all, a commitment to the Kids’ Chance mission that will allow us to continue to move forward.

“Things are challenging right now, but I’m proud to be president of such an important organization in part because of the people I get to work with,” shared incoming president, Ken Martino. “I’m positive about what lies ahead for Kids’ Chance.”

Kids’ Chance of America’s mission is to create a strong Kids’ Chance presence in all 50 states by providing national visibility, financial support, and best practices to each Kids’ Chance state organization. Those organizations provide scholarships to children of workers who have been seriously or fatally injured on the job.
