The $200K Gift Will Provide Services for State Organizations

John and Sandy Goldwater, believing in the work of Kids’ Chance of America (KCOA), have made a generous $200,000 pledge to the Kids’ Chance of America Endowment. This gift allows for the creation of an innovative services program intended to further strengthen the work of Kids’ Chance state organizations.

KCOA is currently exploring ways to make it easier for state organizations to attract scholarship applicants. Seeing the early work of such programs as the Kaleidoscope Scholarship platform, John and Sandy knew this was just the beginning of what Kids’ Chance can do to assist states with our simple and powerful mission — funding scholarships for kids impacted by a parent’s work injury.

“We want to invest in the future of Kids’ Chance nationally, especially the growth and sustainability of our state organizations,” John explains. “Enabling innovative shared services throughout the national network of states will strengthen all states and ultimately lead to more money for more kids.

The innovative services program will examine the obstacles and challenges facing state organizations, including website development, customer relationship management software, and administrative support.

“The more we can strengthen our state organizations by delivering targeted programming and shared services that allow them to focus solely on raising money to award scholarships, the greater the impact that we, the Kids’ Chance community, will have,” says Dana Genheimer, KCOA President.

The Goldwater Fund was initially created in 2019 with a restricted gift to the KCOA Endowment Fund.
