National Partner Raises $12,000 through Multi-State Employee Walk

Community-building is the driving force behind every Kids’ Chance of America (KCOA) partnership. Each of our national partners shares our vision of a workers’ compensation community that supports the families of those injured on the job — and for Kids' Chance, that starts with the kids.

This is especially true of CopperPoint, a national workers’ compensation and insurance company. “Community is at the heart of the company,” says CopperPoint’s AVP, Enterprise Brand & Community Strategy Paula Boca-Bommarito, and it also greatly informs the company’s enterprise giving strategy.

Lending expansive program support of both resources and volunteering across its multi-state footprint, CopperPoint strives to enrich the communities where its employees and customers work and live. In 2022 alone, the company flexed a $1.75 million giving budget and clocked 1,000 employee volunteer hours at 15 different charities across the country.

One of CopperPoint’s foundational Community Giving Pillars is centered on family health, seeking to acknowledge and address the full spectrum of factors that contribute to a worker’s well-being. This includes special emphasis on broader economic and social issues that impact quality of life — such as food insecurity, mental health, safety, senior care, medical accessibility, and, of course, education.

As a national partner, CopperPoint used its quarterly community giving campaign in May 2023 to raise money for Kids’ Chance. Over 600 employees gathered at 11 different locations across nine states for the Step Up Enterprise Employee Walk. For every employee that participated, CopperPoint donated $20 to Kids’ Chance.

With such a tremendous employee turnout, CopperPoint raised $12,000 for Kids’ Chance. To root the impact in their closest communities, the proceeds were then divided and distributed among five different state organizations: Kids’ Chance of Arizona (KCAZ), Kids’ Chance of Alaska (KCAK), Kids’ Chance of Idaho (KCID), Kids’ Chance of Washington (KCWA), and Kids’ Chance of California (KCCA)

Just as Kids’ Chance is deeply grateful for the generous donation made by CopperPoint, we are also equally inspired by its efforts to build community amongst its own employees through such unifying programs. Behind CopperPoint’s fundraisers lies the true spirit of our corporate partnerships — uniting the workers' compensation community in support of families most affected by a workplace injury.

Kids’ Chance is thrilled to have CopperPoint onboard as a national partner and looks forward to continuing our work together to help the children of workers who have been injured on the job pursue their academic goals.
