At Kids’ Chance of America, you can maximize the impact of your charitable contribution through company matching gifts.
1. What are matching gifts?
Matching gifts are donations made by a company to match an employee’s charitable contribution, usually on a 1:1 ratio. Some companies match at higher rates, often doubling or tripling the impact of the original gift.
2. How do matching gifts work?
If you donate to Kids' Chance of America, your employer may match your gift through payroll deductions or through your employer’s employee giving program. Submit a matching gift request to your company, and once approved, Kids' Chance receives the additional matching donation!
3. What types of donations qualify?
Monetary donations are the most common type of employee gift that is matched. Some companies also match volunteer hours with a financial contribution (known as volunteer grants). Kids’ Chance of America is not processing volunteer grants at this time but will update this FAQ when a process is in place to do so.
4. Who can request a matching gift?
Employees—and in some cases retirees or spouses—can ask their company to match their charitable donation, depending on employer policy.
5. How do I find out if my company offers matching gifts?
• Review your HR or CSR portal (e.g., Benevity, CyberGrants,YourCause)
• Ask your HR or CSR team
6. Are there matching limits?
These vary by company. Many have minimums of $25–$50 and annual maximums ranging from $1,000 to $10,000 or more.
7. Is there a deadline to submit?
These also vary by company. Common deadlines include: end of the calendar year, within 3–12 months of donation or your company’s fiscal year end.
8. How long does processing take?
Typically, it can take a few weeks to a few months after the donation request is made to receive approval.
