Faith Bravo
Kids’ Chance of California Scholarship Recipient
Faith Bravo was 5 years old when her stepfather died in a work-related accident. With her mother raising two young daughters alone, Faith’s future could have felt uncertain. But that’s when Kids’ Chance of America’s Planning for the Future program stepped in. The program kept in touch with Faith throughout her childhood, and when she reached college age, connected her to Kids’ Chance of California for scholarships to help her pursue her dreams. Today, Faith is a junior majoring in Interior Design at San Diego State University.
Bailey Burchett
2026 Kids’ Chance National Ambassador
A Topeka, Kansas native now based in Chicago, Bailey Burchett lost her father in a tragic workplace accident the summer before her senior year of college. With support from Kids’ Chance, she earned her Bachelor of Business Administration in supply chain management from the University of Kansas and later completed her MBA in Management from the University of Saint Mary. Today, Bailey is a Senior Business Intelligence Consultant, helping supply chain and manufacturing organizations turn data into smarter decisions.
Nathan Chappell
Nathan Chappell is a global authority on AI and philanthropy, pioneering Responsible + Beneficial AI technologies that are transforming the social sector. As an award-winning author, keynote speaker, and AI inventor, he balances innovation with human connection. With an eye on the future and the heart of a humanist, Nathan bridges emerging technologies with the timeless values that unite us, amplifying nonprofit missions and advancing social good. His award-winning book, Generosity Crisis, is praised as essential reading for nonprofit professionals. He serves as chief AI officer at Virtuous, founded Fundraising.AI, co-hosts its top podcast and advises global standards groups, advancing ethical AI to amplify mission and human connection, worldwide impact and innovation efforts daily.
Meghan Chisholm
Paradigm
Meghan Chisholm serves as the manager, clinical network projects and adoption at Paradigm and is also the organization’s Kids’ Chance liaison. In this role, she leads key initiatives that strengthen Paradigm’s partnership with Kids’ Chance of America, including expanding the Planning for the Future pipeline, which now contains more than 200 Paradigm families. Meghan’s dedication to this mission earned her the 2024 Paradigm Excellence Award for her exceptional work in promoting Kids’ Chance across the organization. As chairperson of the Planning for the Future committee, Meghan is committed to enhancing the program’s productivity and long-term impact, recognizing its potential to become a vital resource for future Kids’ Chance scholars and the states that support them.
Robert M. Clyatt
Kids’ Chance Founder
When Valdosta, Georgia attorney Robert M. Clyatt founded the nonprofit Kids’ Chance in Georgia in 1988, he had one goal in mind: to give the kids of critically or fatally injured workers a chance at a brighter future. Today, that dream has spread across the nation and become a 50-state network of nonprofits that to date have awarded more than $42 million in scholarships. A graduate of Valdosta State, Clyatt received his law degree from Mercer University. He continues to be a valued member of the national Kids’ Chance community that has grown from his dream.
Liz Crum
HP Law, LLC
Liz Crum is an attorney with HP Law in Philadelphia, representing employers, insurers and third-party administrators in workers’ compensation matters. With more than 30 years of experience, she previously served the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania in multiple leadership roles, including director of the Workers’ Compensation Office of Adjudication and Deputy Secretary for Compensation and Insurance. She began her legal career with the U.S. Department of Labor and is a graduate of the University of Pittsburgh School of Law. A dedicated Kids’ Chance advocate for more than 25 years, Liz is a past president of Kids’ Chance of Pennsylvania and currently serves as chair of the Council of State Organizations and liaison to the national board.
Jill Dulich
California Self-Insurers’ Security Fund
Jill Dulich serves as director of claims and operations for the California Self-Insurers’ Security Fund, a role she has held since 2015. She oversees third-party administrators managing claims assigned to the Fund following self-insured employer defaults and leads the organization’s daily administrative operations. She previously served as executive director for both the National Council of Self-Insurers and the California Self-Insurers Association. Jill retired from Marriott International after 32 years, most recently as senior director of Marriott Claims Services, where she managed workers’ compensation, auto and general liability programs across eight western states. She holds a B.S. and M.A. from Cal Poly San Luis Obispo and a J.D. from Western State University College of Law.
Brianna Flynn
Kids’ Chance of California Scholarship Recipient
Brianna Flynn is a dedicated and compassionate nurse who is excited to give back to her community in whatever way that she can. She is passionate about working with her injured workers and advocating for them whenever possible. Brianna lost her father at the age of 7 when he was killed in the line of duty as a Los Angeles County deputy sheriff. With support from Kids’ Chance of California, she was able to earn her nursing degree and is now employed as a field nurse case manager for Paradigm – a position that enables her to raise awareness of Kids’ Chance with patients who may have children who could benefit from a scholarship.
Patrick Hiles
Safety National
Patrick Hiles is a senior vice president at Safety National with more than 30 years of management experience in insurance claims. He joined Safety National in November 2021 as head of the Workers’ Compensation Claims department, where his team specializes in the oversight and management of complex and catastrophic workers’ compensation losses. Patrick is a graduate of the University of Evansville, where he earned a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree.
Mandi Horton
With nearly 25 years of construction safety experience, Mandi Horton currently serves as the director of safety for AGC of Washington. She earned her master’s degree and published a thesis and employer best practice guide on mental health interventions in construction and is the co-chair of the AGC of America Mental Health and Suicide Prevention Task Force and the Chapter Safety Leaders Committee. Mandi enjoys spending time camping and traveling with her family, including her 18-year-old daughter and 13-year-old triplets.
Stefan Hyman
San Diego State University
As associate vice president for enrollment management at San Diego State University, Stefan Hyman provides data-informed leadership to support enrollment, retention and graduation goals. He works closely with campus partners to advance student and institutional success while guiding the university’s enrollment strategy. Stefan oversees specialized recruitment initiatives; directs first-year, transfer and graduate admissions policies and processes; supervises registration and graduation systems; and manages financial aid, scholarship services and academic advising. Prior to joining SDSU, he spent nearly two decades at Stony Brook University in New York. Stefan holds a bachelor’s degree in Musical Studies from SUNY Potsdam and completed master’s and doctoral (ABD) studies in Musicology at Stony Brook University.
Cathey Jackson
Albertsons Companies
Cathey Jackson serves as national director at Albertsons Companies, where she oversees the third-party administrator claims program. She provides leadership across workers’ compensation, general liability, auto and pharmacy claims, with responsibility for medical, legal, disability and expense management. Cathey also played a key role in the implementation and ongoing management of the company’s alternative dispute resolution program in Southern California. With more than 40 years of claims experience — including 27 years in the carrier setting — Cathey brings deep operational expertise and strategic oversight to complex, multi-state programs. She holds dual bachelor’s degrees in Psychology and Liberal Arts, with an emphasis in Special Education from UCLA.
Tailah Jeanty
2026 Kids’ Chance National Ambassador
Raised in Chicago by Jamaican and Haitian immigrants, Tailah Jeanty was inspired by her mother—a registered hospice nurse who suffered a serious workplace back injury—to pursue a future rooted in justice and advocacy. Kids’ Chance of Illinois helped make college possible, empowering her to follow her goal of becoming a criminal defense attorney and, ultimately, a judge. Tailah graduated summa cum laude from North Carolina Central University with a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice and plans to attend law school to achieve her professional goals.
Jayden Lapin
Kids’ Chance of California Scholarship Recipient
As a PR Lead at Cushman & Wakefield, Jayden Lapin specializes in identifying strategic messaging opportunities, securing media coverage that furthers brand visibility and ensuring the firm’s key messages are being inserted into existing discussions. As one of Kids’ Chance of California’s original scholarship recipients, Jayden graduated from the University of California-Berkeley and has remained deeply involved in Kids’ Chance ever since. She currently serves on the KCCA Advisory Board and volunteers her time to speak on numerous panels and events to support the Kids’ Chance mission.
Chris Letsos
Kids’ Chance of America
As Kids’ Chance of America’s first full-time chief executive officer, Chris Letsos oversees all operations for the organization and its efforts to provide scholarships and support to the children of critically and fatally injured workers. Chris has more than two decades of leadership experience in youth-focused and mission-driven organizations. He previously served as chief executive officer of Big Brothers Big Sisters of Tampa Bay, one of the largest affiliates in the national Big Brothers Big Sisters network. His career also includes leadership roles with the Knox Education Foundation, Boys & Girls Clubs of Tampa Bay and the Florida Department of Children and Families, where he oversaw child welfare programs across 11 counties in Southwest Florida.
Jennifer Logue
Kids’ Chance of America
As director of communications, Jennifer Logue oversees all Kids’ Chance of America marketing and communications activities. She brings to Kids’ Chance more than 30 years of experience in journalism, strategic communications and nonprofit leadership. Her broad-based communications experience includes writing for a daily newspaper, serving as managing editor of two community newspapers and managing communications for such organizations as JEA and public broadcasting leader WGBH Boston. Jennifer has been actively involved in numerous nonprofits and currently serves as an assistant governor in Northeast Florida for Rotary International.
Jennifer McCaw
Siegel Moreno & Stettler
Jennifer McCaw began her career in workers’ compensation after graduating from San Diego State University, building a strong foundation as a senior litigation paralegal before advancing into executive leadership. She now serves as vice president of client relations and education at Siegel Moreno & Stettler, where she strengthens client partnerships, enhances service delivery and leads educational initiatives that keep clients informed in a rapidly evolving legal landscape. In addition, Jennifer oversees the firm’s charitable initiatives and community engagement efforts. She has served for more than a decade on the board of Kids’ Chance of California, contributing to the Sponsorship and Conference/Event committees and supporting the organization’s continued growth and impact.
Rosemarie McMorris-Alexander
Sedgwick
Rosemarie McMorris-Alexander has been in the workers’ compensation industry for nearly 25 years. In her current role as claims director for Sedgwick, she oversees operations for both the Nevada and Idaho offices, managing a team of over 70 colleagues. Her responsibilities include oversight of office metrics, staffing models and adherence to expense and budget goals. With both states being residency jurisdictions, she leads service delivery for approximately 500 clients in Idaho and 600 clients in Nevada. She also works closely with the Division of Industrial Relations (DIR) and the Division of Insurance (DOI) on audits and complaints, drafting responses, corrective actions, and providing related staff training.
Sue Mellody
Liberty Mutual
Sue Mellody leads Liberty Mutual’s Workers’ Compensation Claims Managed Solutions group, which includes Examining, Medical Directors, Medical Bill Review, Medicare Compliance, Telephonic Nursing, Utilization Management and Vocational Rehabilitation teams. She became involved with Kids Chance of America in 2019, fostering the national partnership between KCOA and Liberty Mutual, and in 2020 she joined Kids’ Chance of Massachusetts as chair of the Scholarship Committee and is currently the president of KCMA. Sue is deeply passionate about the care and recovery of injured workers and extends that commitment to their families. She believes the Kids’ Chance organizations nationwide play a critical role in supporting families affected by permanent or fatal workplace injuries.
Kellie Nehring
University of San Diego
Kellie Nehring serves as assistant vice provost for financial aid at the University of San Diego, where she provides strategic leadership for the university’s financial aid programs and oversees a $235 million budget. With more than 20 years of experience in higher education administration and student services, she has held multiple leadership roles at USD, including director and assistant director of financial aid. Earlier in her career, Kellie worked at San Diego State University, managing the Direct Loan program and leading campus outreach initiatives. She holds a master’s degree in Communication from San Diego State University and a bachelor’s degree in Communication from the University of Colorado Boulder and is committed to expanding equitable access to higher education.
Nayeli Román
2026 Kids’ Chance National Ambassador
A Pittsburg, California resident, Nayeli Román brings a powerful story of resilience and creativity. Her family’s life changed significantly after her father, a welder, was a victim of workplace violence, leaving him with lasting physical injuries and PTSD. With support from Kids’ Chance of California, she earned a double bachelor’s degree from San José State University in Theatre Arts and Radio, Television and Film. Today, Bailey is pursuing multiple entertainment projects—including an upcoming commercial release—while working part-time with Contra Costa County. Through her voice and vision, she is committed to inspiring students to turn adversity into purpose.
Mason Snider
Kids’ Chance of Virginia Scholarship Recipient
Mason Snider was part of the inaugural 2012 Kids’ Chance of Virginia scholarship class. Born and raised in Arlington, Virginia, he went on to earn a degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Virginia. Mason began his career with Honeywell in the Gulf of Mexico, where he held a variety of roles within the petrochemical industry. He later moved to Charlotte, North Carolina, continuing with Honeywell as a process engineer. In 2021, Mason took time away from work to hike the Appalachian Trail, trekking from Maine to Georgia. His journey then led him west to the mountains of Utah, where he joined Northrop Grumman as a reliability engineer before ultimately returning home to Arlington.
Elizabeth Stanley
Kids’ Chance of America
As operations manager for KCOA, Elizabeth Stanley works closely with the board of directors, CEO and state organizations to strengthen the system infrastructure that supports the Kids’ Chance movement. She plays a key role in advancing Planning for the Future, Kids’ Chance’s signature initiative that connects families to state organizations and builds a strong pipeline of future scholarship recipients. Elizabeth holds a B.A. in Communications, a B.S. in Public Health, and a master’s degree in Nonprofit Management, which shape her practical and people-centered approach to nonprofit leadership. She is passionate about making sure no student is overlooked, and that states have the tools and support they need to serve families well.
Lynda Stettler
Argus West
Lynda Stettler brings more than 33 years of leadership experience in the workers’ compensation industry. Before joining Argus West, she served as executive vice president at Titan Claims Management, leading a third-party administrator with more than 60 employees and overseeing a 4,000-claim carrier program. She previously spent 13 years with Berkshire Hathaway Homestate Companies as assistant vice president, directing 140 professionals across multiple operational functions. Lynda began her career with Golden Eagle Insurance Company, advancing from adjuster to SIU investigator and claims manager. A respected industry leader and mentor, Lynda is a founding board member of Kids’ Chance of California and currently serves as president for the 2026–2027 term.
Dr. Susan Topham
San Diego Community College District
Dr. Susan Topham serves as vice chancellor for educational services for the San Diego Community College District, providing leadership for educational planning across San Diego City, Mesa and Miramar colleges and the College of Continuing Education. She oversees student services and instructional programs, including admissions and records, counseling, financial aid, DSPS and enrollment management, as well as curriculum, online pathways and workforce development initiatives. Raised in Brazil, Susan has experienced the transformative power of education firsthand and is committed to advancing equity through collaboration and shared vision. She holds a doctorate in organizational leadership from Brandman University and earned her master’s and bachelor’s degrees from United States International University in San Diego.
Bob Wilson
Kids’ Chance of America Board
Bob Wilson is a founding partner and former president and CEO of WorkersCompensation.com. He is an experienced presenter for the workers’ compensation industry and has been named one of the “50 Most Influential People in Workers’ Comp” by the SEAK National Workers’ Compensation and Occupational Medicine Conference and is the recipient of a Comp Laude Industry Leader Award. Bob serves on the board of directors for Kids’ Chance of America and is a founding board member and past president of Kids’ Chance of Florida.
Robert E. Wisniewski
College of Workers Compensation Lawyers
A claimant’s attorney in Phoenix, Arizona, Robert E. Wisniewski was a founding corporator of Kids’ Chance of Arizona and served on the interim board that founded Kids’ Chance of America. Since 1976, he has devoted his practice to the representation of injured workers across America. He has litigated over 14,000 Arizona industrial workers’ compensation hearings and with his civil practice, has litigated in every county of Arizona. A fellow of the College of Workers’ Compensation Lawyers, he is a graduate of Upsala College (BA, Political Science), the University of Toledo College of Law and holds a master’s of Public Administration from the University of Oklahoma.
