States, Partners, and Volunteers Rally Around Our Mission

Kids’ Chance Awareness Week requires a lot of planning and a lot of energy. This year, all that planning and energy came together in a tidal wave spreading our mission.

In addition to Kids’ Chance of America, there’s now a Kids’ Chance presence in 48 states. All of those states acknowledged that they would participate in Awareness Week, with the vast majority submitting specific news, events, and activities for the week.

Our national partners also found their own ways to participate. myMatrixx launched a new Kids’ Chance landing page, Genex ran a company-wide sweepstakes, and Paradigm featured different members of their community talking about why they support Kids’ Chance.

Additionally, the majority of our states and our partners participated through social media. In fact, 2020 was one of the most active years for our social media awareness campaign.

“It was fantastic to see my feed so full of Kids’ Chance posts,” said Ken Martino, President of Kids’ Chance of America. “I could tell that everyone really made an effort to get involved this year.”

Now with momentum built from Awareness Week, many of our states will participate in Giving Tuesday, which will happen on December 1, 2020.

“If you’re a member of the Kids’ Chance community - or learned about us for the first time through Awareness Week, consider making a gift to the Kids’ Chance in your state,” said Vicki Burkhart, Executive Director of Kids’ Chance of America. “This year, every gift goes a long way.”

The goal of Kids’ Chance Awareness Week is to concentrate the efforts of our entire community on one week so that we’re able to make the most impact with our message. Kids’ Chance state organizations provide scholarships to children of workers who have been seriously or fatally injured on the job.

The more people we make aware of our mission, the more students we can help. Students like Madesen:

“Receiving [this] scholarship has considerably lessened the financial burden of college. I can now attend college and put all my focus on my studies.”

To everyone who participated in Awareness Week, and to those who support our mission all year long, thank you. We furthered our goal of #MoreMoneyforMoreKids.
