Fun Facts About Kids’ Chance

Happy 2017 Awareness Week! As we celebrate our third annual event, we are excited to continue to build awareness for our mission using our guiding principle of More Money for More Kids.  As has been the past two years, the goal of this week is to increase visibility through outreach events and social media campaigns in order to spread the word about Kids’ Chance scholarship opportunities.

There are currently 39 Kids’ Chance state organizations with several others in development. Collectively, Kids’ Chance organizations have awarded over 6,000 scholarships across the country, totaling over $18,000,000. In 2016-2017 alone, we awarded 497 individual scholarships nationally, with an average of $4,400 per student.

Over the past two years, scholarship applications have increased significantly, but we know there are more students in need of assistance. We want to raise more money for more kids and raising awareness this week can help! Read below to learn what you can do.

Throughout this week, we’ll be sharing information about Kids’ Chance via our blog and social media accounts, primarily on Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn.  We invite you to join the conversation this week, and in the future, as we work together to educate the children of injured workers.

Here are some of the results from the 2016 Awareness Week:

  • 17 Governor’s Proclamations
  • Over 10,000 Twitter Impressions
  • 3,060 press release views
  • We even received a proclamation from President Barack Obama and the White House!
