GREENSBORO, NC, February 1, 2013… – Key Risk, a leading provider of workers compensation insurance products and services for employers throughout the Eastern United States, contributed a total of $40,816 to Kids’ Chance programs in Maryland, Virginia, North Carolina, South Carolina and Georgia. Formed by workers compensation professionals, Kids’ Chance is a national organization that awards scholarships to students (ages 16-25) whose parent’s on-the-job death or catastrophic injury resulted in a substantial decline in family income.

Lancaster, Pa. (December 17, 2012)… – Suzanne Emmet, CPCU, CCEP, ARe, Senior Vice President of Claims and Corporate Compliance at Eastern Insurance Holdings, Inc. (Eastern) in Lancaster, was recently named president of Kids’ Chance of America (KCA). The mission of KCA is to create, assist and support all Kids’ Chance organizations and other similar programs nationwide that provide educational opportunities and scholarships for the children of workers seriously injured or killed on the job.

(December 7, 2012)… – Jeremy Bethancourt, Program Director and co-founder of ACTA Safety in Scottsdale Arizona, and a board member and active supporter of Kids’ Chance of Arizona, was recently appointed to the U.S. Secretary of Labor’s Advisory Committee on Construction Safety and Health (ACCSH).

Thomas Phelan, IWIF President and CEO, appointed President of AASCIF
(TOWSON, Md.)… — Thomas J. Phelan, CPA, President and CEO of IWIF Workers’ Compensation Insurance, has been appointed President of the American Association of State Compensation Insurance Funds (AASCIF). AASCIF is an international association comprised of statutorily created workers’ compensation insurance companies from 26 states in the U.S. and eight workers’ compensation boards in Canada.
