First of all, I can’t express my gratitude enough to all the sponsors who made the start of my college career possible. Without the $5,000 dollar portion of the scholarship that I received for this semester, I would be in the hole for $5,000 and I wouldn’t know where to go from there. I could always pull loans, but that would put a strain on the next 10+ years of my life just to pay them off. The caring people who have donated this money to me have also invested in my dreams to become an agricultural engineer who will discover and improve the agricultural world. I had fallen in love with this area as soon as I arrived at the University of Idaho, a campus surrounded by the most fertile farming land in the northwest. I ultimately want to be in the agricultural industry, consulting and creating fabrications of parts for large farming companies
While I am taking many engineering classes, I am also taking swing dancing and built a float in the shape of a tank for the homecoming parade. I’ve also joined a fraternity, which is one of the best experiences I’ve had so far, along with logging games and selling wood to the community.
All I can say is that I have grown more as a man just in the few weeks that I have been at school and I look forward to improving my knowledge and enjoying experiences that will improve the life of mine and others along the way. Thank you to Kids’ Chance for making this important step in my life possible.
